Nose
Plenty of peat smoke and ozonic sea air leave you in no doubt as to where this whisky was raised. There’s honeysuckle too, with citrus aromas providing balance alongside a hint of apple skin.
Palate
Imagine a beach barbecue on the isle of Islay… smouldering smoky coals mingle with gentle floral notes and heather blowing on the sea soaked breeze…. mmmm. That. But as whisky. Classic Islay. Classic Caol Ila. Smoky, peaty and multilayered.
Finish
Long with fading wood embers providing the final wisp of smoke.
